Why Invest With Us
Our process begins with a deep understanding of your unique circumstances and the purpose of your capital. We take the time to thoroughly assess the following:
- Financial situation: A comprehensive review of your overall financial picture.
- Investment objectives: Whether your goals are short-term, such as purchasing real estate, or longer-term, like retirement planning.
- Risk tolerance: Your comfort level with risk, ranging from conservative strategies to more aggressive, high-growth approaches that may involve greater volatility.
- Income requirements: Whether you anticipate needing income distributions from your portfolio on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, either now or in the future.
- Time horizon: The timeframe for your investments, aligned with personal, family, or business objectives, including key life events that may necessitate significant funds.
Our in-house financial planner will develop a comprehensive financial plan for you and your family, tailored to your entire financial situation. Once we have established your investment profile, we craft a customized asset mix that aligns with your needs and lifestyle. We regularly review and adjust this strategy to ensure it continues to meet your evolving financial goals and expectations.

Evans Value Fund:
In 2009, we introduced the Evans Value Fund, our in-house pooled fund, to extend our expertise to clients with smaller accounts. While composite portfolios are typically structured for larger accounts, this fund enables clients with modest capital to access our investment approach. Many clients hold units of the fund within smaller accounts, such as RESPs or TFSAs. Units of the Evans Value Fund are exclusively available to clients of Evans Investment Counsel.
